Pakistan’s U17 squad wrapped up their Asian Cup qualifying journey with a statement performance, cruising to an 11–0 demolition of Guam in Besh Kungei — a result that offered late cheer after a turbulent week in Group B.

The young Greenshirts needed a lift following back-to-back defeats, and they delivered one with flair. Once the first goal arrived late in the opening half, Pakistan unleashed a relentless wave of attacks. Kaleem Ullah’s sharp volley broke the deadlock before Syed Mehboob doubled the advantage with a clean strike from distance. From there, Pakistan turned the match into a showcase of attacking fluidity.

Muhammad Abdullah added a composed finish before Ullah struck again in stoppage time. The forward later completed his hat-trick with a looping header after the break. Sharaf Khan joined the scoring spree, while Abdul Samad produced a remarkable late cameo with a flurry of goals. Hasnain Ali also got his name on the sheet, rounding off Pakistan’s biggest win of the campaign.

Despite the emphatic finale, qualification had slipped away two days earlier. Yemen — the most consistent side in the group — ended Pakistan’s hopes with a commanding 5–1 victory. A clinical opening spell from the Yemenis left Pakistan chasing shadows, with two goals arriving within a minute after a penalty and a defensive lapse. The Gulf side added a third before halftime and maintained control throughout, sealing their place in the 2026 AFC U17 Asian Cup with a perfect record of five wins.

Pakistan’s campaign had started brightly with wins over Cambodia and hosts Kyrgyzstan, but a narrow loss to Laos stalled their momentum. Yemen’s pace and precision then proved too much for a fatigued squad still learning to navigate top-level continental competition.

Group B wrapped up with Yemen unbeaten at the summit, followed by Pakistan’s respectable second-place finish. For Pakistan’s youngsters, the qualifiers brought flashes of real promise, painful reminders of the margins at elite level — and an emphatic final-day reminder of their potential.
