The Pakistan Football Federation (PFF) has officially announced the postponement of its much-anticipated Extraordinary Congress for the 2025 PFF Executive Committee Elections, originally scheduled for 20th May 2025. The decision comes amid escalating tensions between Pakistan and India, which have disrupted the planned schedule of visiting FIFA and AFC delegations.

In a formal communication addressed to its Congress Members, the PFF cited “unforeseen and unfortunate circumstances” that led to significant logistical and administrative challenges. These disruptions ultimately made it unfeasible to proceed with the Congress on the earlier scheduled date.

According to the statement signed by Muhammad Shahid Niaz Khokhar, Acting General Secretary of the PFF, the Extraordinary Congress will now take place on Tuesday, 27th May 2025 at 2:00 PM PKT in Lahore, at the same venue and with the same agenda previously communicated in the Federation’s letter dated 5th May 2025.

“We appreciate your understanding regarding these unavoidable circumstances that have led to this decision,” the letter states, further emphasizing the importance of member participation as the federation moves toward the election of its new Executive Committee.

This development marks another key moment in the ongoing efforts to reshape the administrative structure of football governance in Pakistan, with the outcome of these elections expected to play a crucial role in the future direction of the sport across the country.
